February Bug Fixes

Tuesday, February 19th, 2013

With new content comes new bug fixes (and typos, so many typos). We’ve also got a few older ones in here that were waiting for some bugfixy friends.

  • Thanks to Heriodule, Barton26, Mosquito, Al, and Mag for helping the Novos rollout go smoothly.
  • The All Resets view now includes the year, thanks to a suggestion from Mag.
  • Reminded certain students on campus that the museum isn’t in ruins. Good catch, Dennis!
  • Properly defleshed Trash Golems. Thanks for taking a bite for the team, Heriodule!
  • And Iron Man runs now show up properly in the reset record. Congrats and thanks, Mag!

As far as typos go, thanks to Mag, Dennis, Al, PenguinPyro, Tros Dal, Arkaim, Thrillhouse, Argeth, and Xerf for tracking those down. And GoldS, especially GoldS.

Cheers!

Tiny Autumn Fixes

Friday, October 19th, 2012

Autumn hasn’t been the best season for bugs, but I figured I’d get these posted before the spookiness gets into full swing.

I fixed some issues with JoyTime Products, thanks to Arkaim for keeping at me on those. That should be working much more consistently now.

Also, the math behind sewer collapses wasn’t fully reflecting the idea, so I reworked those. Thanks to Barton26 for bringing that to my attention.

And some typo fixes courtesy of Al, DoctrZombie, Barton26, Thrillhouse, Cryptodynamic, and Vholes Piper.

Cheers!

  • Red Metal Gaze should properly count as “sciency” again. Good catch Valmo!

Thanks to Nyther, Cryptodynamic, PenguinPyro, Xerf, Happy Yeti, Al, DerMagus, Arkaim, Vholes Piper, and xKiv for reporting those typos.

Also a special thanks to PenguinPyro, Nyther, GoldS, Arkaim, Factitious, Cryptodynamic, Argeth, Valmo, Nyther, and Vholes Piper for helping us kill some typos.

Late January Bug Fixes

Saturday, January 28th, 2012

Fixes! Get yer fixes!

We’ve actually got a bit of a bumper crop. It’s been a good month for bug squishing. Squish, squish, squish.

  • Multiseason runs are now properly searchable. Thanks for the bug reports, Al and Vholes Piper!
  • Sorted out a variety of weirdness with the serpentine chase scene in the Fractured Reflection. Lots of good spading and good reports from DoctrZombie and Arkaim.
  • Long Lost Nostalgia shouldn’t show up as a non-donation skill for resets any more. Good catch, Mag!
  • Corrected some CSS compatibility issues with Firefox. Thanks Barton26!
  • Brick figures can now be removed properly from apartments. Thanks for the bug report, Cryptodynamic!
  • Sorted out a funny issue where replaced buffs weren’t always calculating their bonuses properly. Excellent catch here from xKiv.
  • And, perhaps most importantly, sparklers now deal damage appropriately if you have negative fire defense. Whew, dodged a bullet on that one. Thanks Vholes!

Also thanks to GoldS, Factitious, Mag, Borkman, Sir Cheddar, Al, and Argeth for typo fixes.

Ho Ho Ho, Merry Bugfix

Friday, December 23rd, 2011

We’ve got a nice round of bugfixes and minor changes for the Christmas season. I hope you’re all enjoying the snowmen so far.

  • Starting off, we have the one that you’re most likely to notice: distracting guards in the sewer hideout is now substantially more effective. Thanks to BigBellyJarelli and Mag for this one.
  • Then we have the one that probably has the most impact on, well, the game not being a mess. Thanks to GoldS, we were able to squash an item duplication bug. Big round of applause for GoldS!
  • We also managed to squash a long-standing bug with gaining stats that increase your HP not healing you properly (giving you empty HP instead of full ones, basically). Good catch, Arkaim!
  • And, lastly, Monarch’s Call should now work properly in the Abandoned Subway. Thanks, Barton26.

To round out our list, we’ve got some typo fixes thanks to Vholes Piper, Argeth, Mag, Arkaim, and GoldS.

Cheers!

The Floodgates

Sunday, December 11th, 2011

So, apparently I underestimated how many more bug reports I get when I post the fixes in the devblog. Nothing major, but a list of changes for the week:

  • All opponents should use Brutality appropriately now. Some were getting the bonus damage even if you had a Technique. Filthy cheating enemies.
  • Fixed a bug causing improbable guns to decay too quickly. Good catch, Cryptodynamic!
  • Updated the art for Brutality and fishing in the sewers to be less confusing. Thanks for the suggestions, Al!
  • Sorted out some weirdness eating specters. Thanks for eating absolutely everyone, Vholes!
  • Free fights should now properly refresh the character pane. Thanks again, Al!
  • Corrected some weird encounter logic in the Winter of our souls… I mean, the Fractured Reflection. Direct all applause to Vholes Piper.

And thanks to Barton26, Mag, GoldS, Arkaim, and Vholes Piper for typo reports.

Cheers!

Metabughunt

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011

We’ve got a lot of bug fixes this time. Perhaps unsurprisingly, most of them reflect the new battlefields out in the Net.

  • Corrected a bug allowing use of arbitrary tools in Net Combat. Big thanks to Al for this one.
  • The Viral Reformatter is properly closing access to the reformatted site. Thanks Cryptodynamic and Argeth!
  • Enemy information should be immediately updated on successful use of the Viral Reformat tool. Good catch, DerMagus!
  • Zack now has a conversation option for the Zalian Defense Tool. Thanks for pointing that out, Arkaim.
  • The arms dealer in the VIP Room will no longer sometimes give away free crates of goodies. Thanks Smokestack!
  • Using Cover Fire underwater will no longer result in uncontrollable urges to gnaw the flesh of one’s enemies. Thanks for the bug report, BigBellyJarelli!

Also thanks to Cryptodynamic, elliotbay, Argeth, and rxzambrana for pointing out some typos.

Cheers!

The Growing Net

Sunday, February 13th, 2011

While most hackers have chosen a side, either beating back the viral menace or building towards a viral renaissance, others have been applying the lessons of the battle against the virus to their normal goals of subverting as many sites as possible.

Meanwhile, Extract Data and Intercept Data got a bit of a facelift. They now provide better feedback if they’re overwriting data from a previous use. Thanks to Argeth and Elliotbay for the suggestions.

And the for The Tar Pit has been moved back to it’s status as learned from the wilds of the Net as a quest recipe, rather than by experimentation. Thanks to Al for pointing that out.

Also a huge thanks to Kieliszek, Thrillhouse, Mag, Cryptodynamic, Metro, Arkaim, Factitious, and Borkman for helping me hunt down some of my innumerable typos. Keep fighting the good fight!

Cheers!
