Fix Catch-Up

Sunday, December 4th, 2011

Sometime around Halloween, minor bug fixes stopped getting reported in the shuffle. Sorry if you helped me fix something and I didn’t manage to thank you.

A few fixes I have notes for:

  • Fixed an error clicking on your current avatar. Good catch, Al!
  • Corrected some issues with the Halloween candy grab bag. Thanks, Dennis and Heriodule!
  • I stopped reporting minor bug fixes. Thanks for pointing that out, Mag!

Also thanks to (at least) Vholes Piper, BigBellyJarelli, Dan, Cryptodynamic, Borkman, Factitious, Mag, Isladar, pete, suuljin, Thrillhouse, Happy Yeti, and Thrillhouse for reporting typos.

Cheers!

Labor Day Labor

Monday, September 5th, 2011

Bug fixes and little updates ahoy!

  • Returning to the Fang’s hideout after killing all the guards should now display the appropriate options. Good catch, BigBellyJarelli.
  • Salvaged items now immediately appear in the list to resalvage. Good eyes, Pete!
  • There are now a “Newest” and a “First” link the profile list. Good suggestion, Vholes.
  • Offhand items are now properly unequipped when you have a cyberdoc remove your cyberarms. Thanks, Sir Cheddar!
  • Corrected an issue where credits you received in your mail wouldn’t update your character pane properly. Thanks for the bug report, Cank!
  • Logging in to a lab computer then immediately back out now counts as walking away and, when appropriate, loitering. Good eyes, DoctrZombie.

And special thanks to Factitious, Mag, Borkman, DoctrZombie, Cryptodynamic, Thrillhouse, and Vholes Piper for some typo finding.

Cheers!

Through the Looking Glass

Saturday, July 23rd, 2011

The Mirror seems to have gone out pretty smoothly, in the grand scheme of things. I think we’ve got most of the bugs hammered out. I apologize if I miss anyone’s contribution, those first few days are always quite hectic.

Mirror Fixes

  • Fixed several bugs with climbing the reflected tower, then rebalanced the difficulty. Thanks for the masochism, Al and Mag!
  • Bonus Choice XP is now displaying properly. Good catch, The Fop!
  • Apple Rotgut is usable properly. Thanks, Mag!
  • The maiden will no longer stonewall questions with “SQL Error.” It’s unladylike, after all. Thanks, Lord Finisher, DoctrZombie, Argeth, GoldS, and DerMagus!

Other Changes

  • New item labels should now appear in their descriptions. For the moment this includes Music, Fishing Lure, Fishing Line, and some others you don’t have to worry about for a while. Before anyone asks, it’s not my intention to include many of these beyond what I already mentioned.
  • High Test Line and the Training Hook effects now interact. Good suggestion, The Fop.

Typos!
We’ve also got a whole swarm of typos from amysaysyes, The Fop, Mag, Sir Cheddar, Lord Finisher, Factitious, Liasi, Al, borkman, Francis Vixen, and Argeth. Thanks, everyone!

Cheers!

The Growing Net

Sunday, February 13th, 2011

While most hackers have chosen a side, either beating back the viral menace or building towards a viral renaissance, others have been applying the lessons of the battle against the virus to their normal goals of subverting as many sites as possible.

Meanwhile, Extract Data and Intercept Data got a bit of a facelift. They now provide better feedback if they’re overwriting data from a previous use. Thanks to Argeth and Elliotbay for the suggestions.

And the for The Tar Pit has been moved back to it’s status as learned from the wilds of the Net as a quest recipe, rather than by experimentation. Thanks to Al for pointing that out.

Also a huge thanks to Kieliszek, Thrillhouse, Mag, Cryptodynamic, Metro, Arkaim, Factitious, and Borkman for helping me hunt down some of my innumerable typos. Keep fighting the good fight!

Cheers!

Feature Additions

Sunday, November 28th, 2010

Added a couple of heavily requested features today and fixed up a pile of bugs.

Features first!

  • Touched up the Techniques page. Lots of little changes, but the big one now is being able to delete the Default deck.
  • Simple recipes are now remembered between resets.
  • Added a ‘lieutenant’ rank within gangs that can modify the gang warfare agendas.
  • In a related note, the gang ranks now have clicky definitions like attributes do.
  • New resets now include a date when the reset completed and are sortable by time of completion.

And bugs!

  • Zack stopped giving out complimentary copies of the Emerald Gift scrapbook when you reset. Thanks for the bug report and the honest, Factitious!
  • Sewer Hideout encounters should react properly now if you kill half the guards, then sneak the rest of the way. Thanks Al!
  • Location is now properly included in gang warfare messages when you lose control. Thanks for the bug report, Cank!
  • Corrected an issue where the game thought all runs were completed on January 1st, 1970. Go Team Unix! Thanks for the bug report, Factitious.
  • Hopefully fixed an issue where Techniques based on your hit points weren’t updating midround. Good catch, Llamaman!

And typos!
Thanks to Elliotbay, Cryptodynamic, xKiv, Suuljin, Borkman, and Mag for helping make the game a little more legible for everyone :)

Cheers!

Little Fixes

Thursday, August 19th, 2010

Have mostly been recovering from illness (curse you GenCon!) and the Survivors’ Quest (curse you Survivors!), but we’ve got some new fixes in place.

  • Cover Fire is being given out properly (not a broken weird copy). Thanks TeKRunner!
  • You can appropriately melt Achromatic Ingots back down with chemistry. Thanks for the chemistry madness, Vholes.
  • Most of the pearls can probably be sold now, single-handedly thanks to Cryptodynamic, Metroplex’s resident Pearl Baron.
  • Corrected a bug where you could switch gear and do all sorts of other stuff in the middle of a location-specific hacking encounter. Thanks Xerf, appreciate the report.
  • The Extreme Fishing XIII board should display properly now when you’re mid-reset. Good catch, Mag!
  • Halloween Spirit now works consistently with Christmas Cheer, thereby avoiding all-out war between the holidays. Thanks to Amasius on this one.
  • Joytime Products will no longer try to ship you negative Fae Plushes. Thanks Happy Yeti!
  • Also fixed up a bunch of typos thanks to Borkman, Happy Yeti, Glass, Mag, and Cryptodynamic. Yay for typo fixes!

Stay tuned for the podcast next week, in which I’ll reveal if I’m crazy enough to roll out some content before Halloween.

Cheers!

Back From GenCon

Monday, August 9th, 2010

So, I’m back from the best four days in gaming and caught up on bug reports. Also sick as a dog, which is how this tends to work.

  • One of the branches of David’s quest wasn’t completing properly. Thanks for the bug report, xKiv!
  • The buffs from Cinematic Dodge had been broken for a while but should be working now. Good eyes, TeKRunner!
  • The Cured Shark Hide is craftable. Good catch, Sir Cheddar!
  • Burning Ectoplasm actually does damage like it’s supposed to. Thanks Cryptodynamic!
  • On a totally unrelated note, you can no longer take negative damage from things like Burning Ectoplasm. Thanks Llamaman!
  • Fixed some quirks resting in the lake. Thanks for the bug reports, Vholes and Der Magus!

Also, thanks to Mag, Argeth, Llamaman, Vholes Piper, Cryptodynamic, Nyther, Amasius, Happy Yeti, TeKRunner, borkman, and Al for help sorting out some Survivors’ typos. So… many… typos.

Cheers!

Bits and Pieces

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

I’ve mostly been unpacking and working on the Survivors’ Quest, but I’ve also snuck out a few changes. Nothing too major, but wanted to make sure they didn’t get lost down the memory hole.

  • If you have a Christmas Tree up, your ornaments are visible from your profile. Thanks to Al for finally prodding me into implementing it.
  • Rankings (Fishing, Chess) should now be reset properly by the beta reset. Good catch, Xerf!
  • Maxwell’s rewards should be working properly. Thanks for the bug reports, Al and Argeth!
  • Exclusive buffs like music and fishing lures should display a little more cleanly. Good call, GoldS.
  • I added some more interactions with the Slags Medical Files. Thanks for the suggestions, Llamaman.
  • As mentioned on the podcast, added two new avatars.
  • And a big “thank you!” to Mag, Borkman, Vholes Piper, Nyther, Cryptodynamic, and Glass for reporting typos.

Cheers!

Post-Quest Updates

Tuesday, May 11th, 2010

So I got a little stuff done last night while waiting for folks to test out the quest and wanted to mention the updates here.

  • Rewrote a lot of crafting, like a lot of crafting, which will make it a lot easier for me to add new recipes in the future. And paves the way for remembering experimental recipes between resets.
  • As an upshot of that, most recipe results are now clickable for the item description. Thanks to GoldS for the suggestion and Glass for helping me get everything working.
  • I also reworked how curatives (which is to say things that remove effects, like Slags Antidote or the Street Doc) work, which should have them working more consistently. There weren’t many visible changes, and most of them good, but I won’t promise anything.
  • Fixed up a lot of little things and a few big things with the new quest thanks to Cryptodynamic, Argeth, Goferchan, Happy Yeti, and GoldS.
  • Messages past their timeout won’t be deleted on the pageload you’re trying to save them. Sorry about that Shademaster00, but thanks for the bug report.
  • The new capitalization change in the account preferences page should be working properly. Thanks Sir Cheddar!
  • Having the id equipped wasn’t allowing folks into the Slags Lab for a while. That should be working properly now. Thanks for the report Cryptodynamic!
  • Also, we’ve got a great round of new content typos from Cryptodynamic, RazielSonofKain, Argeth, Borkman, Mag, and Sir Cheddar! Thanks, everyone!

Cheers!

Small Updates

Thursday, April 1st, 2010
  • Deactivating alarm in Midgard Bioresearch should work properly. Thanks Llamaman!
  • Fighting Shard is no longer a free action. Good catch Factitious.
  • Poetry notes now only work on the noted document. Thanks for the bug report, Mag.
  • The Golden Chip links back to the net rather than the streets. Good suggestion, Plus4!
  • The bauble items (from the Lost Son quest) are gadgets rather than offhand now, to match the switch for Slags IDs. Thanks to Vholes Piper for this one.
  • And some typo fixes from Mag, Vholes Piper, Thrillhouse, Plus4, and Borkman.

There are probably some other changes that I missed. If anything leaps to mind, drop me a line and I’ll make sure it gets added.

Cheers!
