Late January Bug Fixes

Saturday, January 28th, 2012

Fixes! Get yer fixes!

We’ve actually got a bit of a bumper crop. It’s been a good month for bug squishing. Squish, squish, squish.

  • Multiseason runs are now properly searchable. Thanks for the bug reports, Al and Vholes Piper!
  • Sorted out a variety of weirdness with the serpentine chase scene in the Fractured Reflection. Lots of good spading and good reports from DoctrZombie and Arkaim.
  • Long Lost Nostalgia shouldn’t show up as a non-donation skill for resets any more. Good catch, Mag!
  • Corrected some CSS compatibility issues with Firefox. Thanks Barton26!
  • Brick figures can now be removed properly from apartments. Thanks for the bug report, Cryptodynamic!
  • Sorted out a funny issue where replaced buffs weren’t always calculating their bonuses properly. Excellent catch here from xKiv.
  • And, perhaps most importantly, sparklers now deal damage appropriately if you have negative fire defense. Whew, dodged a bullet on that one. Thanks Vholes!

Also thanks to GoldS, Factitious, Mag, Borkman, Sir Cheddar, Al, and Argeth for typo fixes.

Cheers!

Cyberbugs

Friday, August 12th, 2011

Most of these bugs weren’t actually with cybernetics, which had a shockingly smooth launch one the lab opens its doors *pats back*

I just really wanted to say “cyberbugs.” Like who wouldn’t want a beetle with cyberlegs? If nothing else, so you could say “What sort of maniac would put cyberlegs on a beetle?”

  • Fixed a bug making cybernetics grant their bonuses properly. Good (cyber)eyes, Viscerator!
  • Your white list status (or lack thereof) is mentioned in the Leave Gang section of your Gang screen. Good suggestion, Sir Cheddar.
  • Marked some items as equippable properly, thanks to GoldS.
  • You can now redirect shipments if you’re hacking while looking at a mirror or reading a book. Good catch, Mag.
  • Watching ice freeze now properly results in frozen ice. Thanks, Francis Vixen!
  • And some typo fixes from Cryptodynamic, Mag, Factitious, Liasi, Cank, Sir Cheddar, Vholes Piper, and Thrillhouse. Wooo! Go team!

Note that this update is completely unrelated to Metroplex Day, which is tomorrow. You can’t combine the metaphorical cyberbug with a firework to make some sort of giant beetle firework.

Although if you find a way to enter metaphors in the crafting system, you should probably let me know.

Cheers!

Through the Looking Glass

Saturday, July 23rd, 2011

The Mirror seems to have gone out pretty smoothly, in the grand scheme of things. I think we’ve got most of the bugs hammered out. I apologize if I miss anyone’s contribution, those first few days are always quite hectic.

Mirror Fixes

  • Fixed several bugs with climbing the reflected tower, then rebalanced the difficulty. Thanks for the masochism, Al and Mag!
  • Bonus Choice XP is now displaying properly. Good catch, The Fop!
  • Apple Rotgut is usable properly. Thanks, Mag!
  • The maiden will no longer stonewall questions with “SQL Error.” It’s unladylike, after all. Thanks, Lord Finisher, DoctrZombie, Argeth, GoldS, and DerMagus!

Other Changes

  • New item labels should now appear in their descriptions. For the moment this includes Music, Fishing Lure, Fishing Line, and some others you don’t have to worry about for a while. Before anyone asks, it’s not my intention to include many of these beyond what I already mentioned.
  • High Test Line and the Training Hook effects now interact. Good suggestion, The Fop.

Typos!
We’ve also got a whole swarm of typos from amysaysyes, The Fop, Mag, Sir Cheddar, Lord Finisher, Factitious, Liasi, Al, borkman, Francis Vixen, and Argeth. Thanks, everyone!

Cheers!

March Bug Fixes

Thursday, March 31st, 2011

It occurs to me that I haven’t done a master bugfix post in a while. How do I know? Because I have a giant pile of them to post. Enjoy!

  • Corrected an infinite items bug, thanks to GoldS. If GoldS was a country, I’d be waving a little GoldS flag right now.
  • Fixed a bug that made Gang Warfare unavailable. Thanks for catching that, cudgelist and DerMagus!
  • Undestroyed the Metroplex University Computer Lab. Thanks for the bug reports Argeth, Liasi, and Mosquito.
  • Fixed a funny issue where the links on the Golden Chip leaderboard were going to random gangs. Good eyes Mag and Francis Vixen.
  • Corrected a bug preventing the Signal Tracker from being sold, back when it was sellable… which it isn’t anymore… Thanks for unbreaking the event, Happy Yeti and DoctrZombie.
  • The mouseover for the Waterfront now appropriately says The Waterfront rather than The Docks. Thanks for the new eyes on that Heriodule!
  • I have a note here that says “Broke the news to 05Cleaner (Argeth)” Not sure time I meant, but Argeth’s reported a lot of issue’s with 05Cleaner’s dialogue. Thanks!

Also thanks to Mag, BigBellyJarelli, Thrillhouse, Cank, Factitious, Elliotbay, OgremanSam, Cryptodynamic, Al, Sir Cheddar, and GoldS for catching some typos. That… is a lot of typos. Seriously, thanks :)

Cheers!

A Few Updates

Saturday, December 11th, 2010

Between resting and working on Christmas, I’ve squeezed in a few updates.

  • You can now retrieve items from Zack multiple times a run (for example, if it spans seasons). Thanks for pointing that out, Al.
  • Added conversation options to Zack regarding the seasonal reset rewards. Good call, Mag.
  • The OmniMall now sends messages to gift receivers explaining how to get their gifts if they don’t already have OmniMall access. Thanks for the suggestion, Sir Cheddar.
  • Fixed a few bugs preventing seasonal reset rewards from being handed out in a timely fashion. Thanks Mag and Factitious!
  • Corrected a bug where stuns weren’t consistently disrupting Techniques that depend on their predecessors (like Swordplay). Thanks Xerf!

Also thanks to Xerf, Suuljin, Cryptodynamic, Mag, Factitious, and GoldS for their continued effort typo-slaying.

*wanders off humming “Blessed is the OmniMall”*

Cheers!

Helping Hand

Tuesday, October 5th, 2010

Okay, a couple of friendly additions for new players today:

  • There are now combat hints from when you start out to when you start including new techniques in your deck. This covers basic Chain creation, some strategy, and interface stuff.
  • There’s also a backstory blurb when you first log in (or reset).

The combat hints won’t fire if you have hints turned off in the account preferences. If you want to see them as an existing player, turn those on, then switch to a deck with the four basic techniques.

If you want to see the new blurb, go to Southside :)

Also fixed some bugs:

  • Corrected an ancient issue causing negative duration buffs. Thanks Llamaman!
  • Officer Stone can now be unlocked properly again. Thanks for doublechecking with me, Xerf, I appreciate it.
  • Pain Incarnate can now hurt you. Thanks for the bug report, Cryptodynamic.

And some typo fixes thanks to xKiv, Cryptodynamic, Sir Cheddar, Metro, Mag, Argeth, Glass, Happy Yeti, and Vholes Piper. Seriously! Nine players! Go go team typokiller!

Cheers!

A parcel of bug fixes

Tuesday, September 14th, 2010

Here’s the list of updates and bug fixes from the past weekend. Which, so far, contains shockingly few Sewer Hideout related bugs. I’ll hold my tongue for now, though :)

  • The l, s, r, and c keys now work in physical and net combat for the appropriate buttons.
  • Saber is no longer quite so unshakable. Thanks for the bug report, Llamaman!
  • Fixed several errors with Cracked Spores. Thanks Happy Yeti!
  • Corrected an issue trading with our Mushroomy friends in the sewers. Thanks for pointing that out, TeKRunneR!
  • You now need a warehouse ID rather than a liquefied Eclipse to try and swipe into the warehouse office. Don’t ask why, it’s funnier this way. And thanks to Llamaman for pestering me until I realized why some people were seeing the option properly.
  • Thanks to Mag, Happy Yeti, Glass, and TeKRunneR for shoring up some of my spelling and grammar. Hip hip hooray!
  • And a special thanks to Sir Cheddar for verifying the game worked properly from Hong Kong after we received some bug reports. Much obliged!

Cheers!

Back From GenCon

Monday, August 9th, 2010

So, I’m back from the best four days in gaming and caught up on bug reports. Also sick as a dog, which is how this tends to work.

  • One of the branches of David’s quest wasn’t completing properly. Thanks for the bug report, xKiv!
  • The buffs from Cinematic Dodge had been broken for a while but should be working now. Good eyes, TeKRunner!
  • The Cured Shark Hide is craftable. Good catch, Sir Cheddar!
  • Burning Ectoplasm actually does damage like it’s supposed to. Thanks Cryptodynamic!
  • On a totally unrelated note, you can no longer take negative damage from things like Burning Ectoplasm. Thanks Llamaman!
  • Fixed some quirks resting in the lake. Thanks for the bug reports, Vholes and Der Magus!

Also, thanks to Mag, Argeth, Llamaman, Vholes Piper, Cryptodynamic, Nyther, Amasius, Happy Yeti, TeKRunner, borkman, and Al for help sorting out some Survivors’ typos. So… many… typos.

Cheers!

Survivors’ Fixes and GenCon

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010

I just wanted to give a hearty “thanks!” to everyone who provided feedback on the Survivors’ Quest and helped get things fixed up. My list is Sir Cheddar, Cryptodynamic, Valliant, Argeth, Mag, Happy Yeti, ThunderBird, TeKRunner, and Plus4. Sorry if I missed anyone.

Timing’s pretty good. As the bug reports are starting to slow down a touch, I’m heading to GenCon. I’ll be keeping an eye on things from there, but mostly just enjoying my vacation, so try not to request too many sweeping changes :)

Cheers!

Intermediate Updates

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

There are a few updates I’d like to mention that are visible now. The main one is that there’s a new Melee Technique filling Kidney Punch’s old role and Kidney Punch now does something fairly different.

  • Kidney Punch has been replaced by a new Technique better representing the teacher’s desire for fair play (and melee attacks). Kidney Punch now works differently and is learned separately.
  • Higher number keys now work properly in Net Combat. Good catch Valliant.
  • Corrected a bug where the last energy of lines and lures didn’t effect fishing. Good eyes, Argeth, good eyes.
  • Living Sludge Hearts cap at 999/day. If you want more petrol than that… I have no idea what to suggest. Thanks to Sir Cheddar for pointing out this error.
  • On a heart related note, the Industrial heart is craftable again. Thanks Al!
  • Also thanks to Llamaman, Xerf, Mag, Vholes Piper, and Glass for uncovering some typos lurking in old content so we can build a strong grammatical base moving forward.

Tic toc.

Cheers!
